It proclaims that poverty is America’s new slavery. This is a primary document guiding Blue Christian politics.

This is how bankrupt leftist thinking is, Christian or not. There are so many obviously irrational assertions made in this document it is difficult to concisely address them (although I have tried to do so on my web site).
Suffice it to say that claiming an obvious and absolute impossibility like “Extreme global poverty must end” shows they’re just manipulating your emotions rather than rationally thinking through things.
Extreme global poverty is caused by a lack of economic and political freedom (i.e. ruthless dictators) - there is NO WAY to ensure that around the world everyone will be good national leaders providing freedom for their people and there is no way to lift people out of extreme poverty when lunatic dictators are in charge of the country you’re trying to help.
Feeling good about yourself by saying that extreme global poverty must end doesn’t change the reality it won’t.
But that’s just one tiny point..
